"Pan Kun" Explores The Seabed Secrets, Soaring Blue Whale Provide Buoyancy Materials

On October 19, 2019, members of the OBS laboratory team took the "Marine Geology No. 4" and launched 6 "Pan Kun" independently developed in the sub-basin of the northwestern South China Sea. As of May 15, 2020, 6 "Pan Kun" All were successfully recovered. After preliminary analysis on site, the data quality was good and the expected goal was achieved. This marked the successful completion of the 7-month subsea seismic data acquisition experiment in the deep water area of ​​the northwestern basin of the South China Sea, and the instrument recovery rate reached 100%.
"Pan Kun" dived to the seabed of 3800 to 4100 meters this time. In this exploration activity, the solid buoyancy material provided by the blue whale soaring is indispensable. So what are the advantages of buoyancy materials that blue whales take off?
